Comprehensive obstetrics & gynaecology care
From planning a pregnancy through every stage of a woman's health, here's how Astral Hospital can help — explained in plain terms, with Dr. Supriya Gaikwad guiding your care throughout.
Pregnancy Planning & Preconception Care
Thinking about starting or growing your family is a good time to plan ahead. A preconception visit covers a general health check, a review of any existing conditions (like thyroid disorders, diabetes or blood pressure) that can affect pregnancy, and guidance on nutrition, folic acid supplementation and lifestyle changes that support a healthy pregnancy. For couples who have been trying to conceive without success, we also offer infertility evaluation and a step-by-step treatment plan.
- Preconception health check-up and counselling
- Review of existing medical conditions before pregnancy
- Nutrition and lifestyle guidance
- Infertility evaluation and management
Antenatal (Pregnancy) Care
Regular antenatal visits let us track your baby's growth and your own health through every trimester. Visits typically include weight and blood pressure checks, urine and blood tests, ultrasound scans to monitor the baby's development, and screening tests recommended at specific stages of pregnancy. We also talk through diet, weight gain, common pregnancy symptoms and what to expect as your due date approaches, so you always know what's next.
- Trimester-wise checkups and monitoring
- In-house ultrasound (USG) scans
- Recommended screening and blood tests
- Diet, weight and symptom guidance through pregnancy
Labor & Delivery
Our labor room is set up for both normal and assisted deliveries, with pain-relief options discussed with you in advance so you know what to expect. When a cesarean section is medically necessary — planned in advance or as an emergency — it's performed in our in-house operation theatre, so there's no need to be transferred elsewhere during labor.
- Normal and painless (epidural-assisted) delivery options
- Planned and emergency cesarean sections
- In-house operation theatre and labor room
- Continuous monitoring through labor
High-Risk Pregnancy Management
Some pregnancies need closer attention — because of conditions like gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disorders, twin pregnancies or a prior complicated delivery. We monitor high-risk pregnancies with more frequent visits, additional scans and tests, and a clear plan for delivery that accounts for your specific situation, so risks are identified and managed early.
- Closer monitoring for gestational diabetes and hypertension
- Management of thyroid disorders during pregnancy
- Care for twin and multiple pregnancies
- Individualised delivery planning
Postnatal Care & Recovery
The weeks after delivery matter as much as the pregnancy itself. We check on physical recovery (including healing after a C-section), monitor for postpartum complications, and support you through breastfeeding and the early days of motherhood. Follow-up visits are scheduled to make sure both you and your baby are recovering well.
- Post-delivery recovery checkups
- C-section wound care and monitoring
- Breastfeeding support and guidance
- Scheduled postnatal follow-up visits
Gynaecological Health
Women's health needs change across life stages, from the teenage years through the reproductive years and into menopause. We diagnose and treat menstrual irregularities, PCOS/PCOD, and other gynaecological conditions, perform laparoscopic and open gynaecological surgery when needed, and offer contraception counselling and preventive well-woman checkups — all with the same doctor across visits.
- Menstrual disorders and PCOS/PCOD management
- Laparoscopic and open gynaecological surgery
- Family planning and contraception counselling
- Well-woman checkups and menopausal care
