At Every Life Stage

Gynaecological Care & PCOS Treatment in Wakad, Pune

Diagnosis and treatment for period problems, PCOS/PCOD and other gynaecological conditions, including laparoscopic surgery when it is needed.

Women’s health needs change across life stages, from the teenage years through the reproductive years and into menopause. Having one doctor who knows your history makes that care easier and more consistent.

Periods and menstrual disorders

We diagnose and treat irregular, heavy, painful or absent periods. The cause might be hormonal, thyroid-related, structural such as fibroids or polyps, or related to PCOS, and treatment follows from finding the cause.

PCOS / PCOD

(See our dedicated PCOS/PCOD treatment page.) PCOS/PCOD affects menstrual cycles, skin and hair, weight, and fertility. Our approach combines lifestyle and diet guidance with medical treatment tailored to your goals, whether that is regular cycles, managing symptoms, or planning a pregnancy.

Gynaecological surgery

See also: laparoscopic gynaecological surgery. When surgery is needed, we perform both laparoscopic (keyhole) and open gynaecological surgery in our in-house operation theatre. Laparoscopic surgery typically means smaller incisions and a faster return to routine, when suitable for your condition.

Contraception and family planning

Confidential counselling on the options available, matched to your health, lifestyle and plans for the future, including temporary methods and permanent options.

Adolescent gynaecology

Gentle, private care for teenagers: painful or irregular periods, delayed puberty, PCOS, and questions about growing up, with parents involved as much as the young person wishes.

Well-woman check-ups and menopausal care

Preventive screening and general check-ups at every life stage, and care for the hormonal changes of perimenopause and menopause.

Safe abortion and miscarriage care

FAQs

Common questions

What is the difference between PCOS and PCOD?

The terms are often used interchangeably in India. Both describe a hormonal condition with irregular ovulation, often with irregular periods, acne or excess hair growth, and cysts seen on ultrasound. What matters is the plan for managing symptoms and long-term health.

Can PCOS be cured?

PCOS is a long-term condition that can be managed well rather than cured. Lifestyle changes and medical treatment control symptoms and improve fertility and long-term metabolic health.

When should I see a gynaecologist about my periods?

If periods are very heavy, painful, irregular, absent for months, or if you bleed between periods or after menopause. Teenagers whose periods have not started by 15 should also be assessed.

Which conditions can be treated by laparoscopic surgery?

Commonly ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometriosis, and some procedures for hysterectomy. Whether laparoscopy is suitable depends on your condition, and your doctor will explain the options.

At what age should I begin routine gynaecological check-ups?

Annual check-ups are sensible from the time of sexual activity or from the early twenties, with cervical screening as advised, and more regular review around menopause.
