Trying To Conceive

Infertility Evaluation & Treatment in Wakad, Pune

A structured evaluation of both partners and a step-by-step treatment plan for couples who have been trying to conceive without success.

Difficulty conceiving is more common than most people expect, and is caused by factors in the woman, the man, or both. A calm, structured evaluation usually finds a reason and a way forward.

What the evaluation involves

We take a detailed history from both partners and examine the woman. Initial tests commonly include ultrasound, hormone tests, and a semen analysis for the partner. Further investigations are advised only if needed.

Treatment options

  • Treating underlying conditions such as PCOS, thyroid disorders or infections
  • Lifestyle and weight guidance
  • Ovulation induction with follicle monitoring on ultrasound
  • Laparoscopic treatment of conditions such as endometriosis or cysts, when required
  • Referral for advanced assisted reproduction where appropriate

FAQs

Common questions

When should we seek help?

After a year of regular, unprotected intercourse without conception, or after six months if the woman is 35 or older. Sooner if periods are irregular or there is a known medical issue.

Which tests are done?

Typically a semen analysis, hormone tests, a pelvic ultrasound and, where indicated, a test of the fallopian tubes. We start with simple tests and go further only as needed.

What are the common causes?

Ovulation problems such as PCOS, blocked tubes, endometriosis, male factor issues, or no cause found. Often more than one factor is present.

Will we need IVF?

Many couples conceive with simpler measures such as treating the underlying condition, timed intercourse or ovulation induction. If advanced treatment is needed, we explain the options and refer where appropriate.
